// May 5th, 2009 // Contests

drew-2The winner of HarmonyFest 2008’s Guitar Contest, Drew Sprague, was presented his prize guitar at the Riviera Theater on Sunday, March 15th. Sprague,16, won the contest out of 10 contestants who participated last year. He has been playing for three years and is a student at Gull Lake High School. He performed an original piece on his electric guitar and opened for Kennedy’s Kitchen, a Celtic band, who has also performed at the HarmonyFest in previous years.

John Howie, Music Department Director at Lowry’s Books & More, hand-crafted the guitars for the contest the past two years. This year’s guitar has a special feature, though, Carlos Santana’s autograph.
